1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They help the website work, remember your choices and, with your permission, help us understand how the website is used. Some of the services we use rely on similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage. In this policy, we call all of these “cookies”.
2. How we use cookies
We use essential cookies without asking, because the website cannot work properly without them. We only use other cookies if you agree to them in the cookie banner that appears when you first visit. You can change your mind at any time (see section 5).
- Essential (always active): keep the website secure and working, remember your cookie choices, and make the basket and checkout work.
- Preferences: we do not currently use any preference cookies.
- Statistics (only with your permission): Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are visited and where people click and scroll, so we can improve it.
- Live chat and marketing (only with your permission): these load our tawk.to live chat so you can message us, and record how you found our website when you buy one of our packages, for example from a search engine or another website.
3. The cookies we use
Essential (always active)
- Your cookie choices (cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics and cmplz_marketing). Set by us to remember the choices you make in our cookie banner. They last 1 year.
- Your basket (woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_). Set by us when you add a package to your basket, so it stays there while you check out. They last until you close your browser, apart from wp_woocommerce_session_, which lasts 2 days.
- Card payments (__stripe_mid and __stripe_sid). Set by Stripe on our checkout page to process your payment securely and help prevent fraud. __stripe_mid lasts 1 year and __stripe_sid lasts 30 minutes.
Statistics (only with your permission)
- Google Analytics (_ga, and _ga_ followed by an ID). Set by Google to tell visits apart, so we can see how many people visit our website and which pages they use. They last 2 years.
- Microsoft Clarity (_clck and _clsk). Set by Microsoft to show us how our pages are used, for example where people click and how far they scroll. _clck lasts 1 year and _clsk lasts 1 day. Microsoft may also set cookies on its own website addresses, such as clarity.ms.
Live chat and marketing (only with your permission)
- tawk.to live chat (TawkConnectionTime, twk_idm_key, tawk_uuid_ followed by an ID, and items in your browser’s storage). Set by tawk.to to run our live chat, keep it working across open tabs and recognise you if you come back to a conversation. Most last until you close your browser; tawk_uuid_ lasts 6 months.
- How you found us (sbjs_session, sbjs_current, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_first, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_udata and sbjs_migrations). Set by us, through our shop, to record how you arrived at our website, such as from a search engine or another website, so we can see which channels lead to orders. They last until the end of your visit; sbjs_session lasts 30 minutes.
4. Other websites and services
- Our booking buttons take you to Calendly, which uses its own cookies under its own cookie policy.
- Our website uses Google Fonts. Your browser downloads the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address but does not set cookies.
- Links to other websites, such as podcasts and social media, are covered by those websites’ own policies.
5. Changing your choices
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page, or the options below. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the website, such as the shop, may not work.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
7. Contact us
If you have any questions about cookies, please email selma.k@vagency.org.uk. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and the rights you have, including how to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
